The Mystery Of The Spirit And Flesh

Everybody coming to the presence of God, to learn, comes with a pen and paper.

Why is it like that?

It is because the flesh was not made to be what connects all things (ọ bugh ihe jikọtara ihe nile). The flesh has limits – there are things which the flesh can do, and other things which the flesh cannot do. It is only the spirit that has no limit. The flesh has limits. There are things you teach the flesh, and the flesh will remember it.

The Head: Things like your habit or everyday actions.

St Paul: But there are other things you teach, which the flesh cannot remember (ọ gbafunari anu aru), despite the fact that the spirit knows something, but because the spirit is inside the flesh, the flesh makes the spirit to become like a fire inside a lamp (ọkụ amunyere nime lantan).

Parable Of Light In A Lamp

How does the light lit inside a lamp appear?

It is usually very small?

Congregation: Yes, my Lord.

St Paul: It keeps calm, dimmed. Yet, the fire inside a lamp is able to become a wildfire that consumes, razes, a nation, if you give it the chance to do so.

Son of man, do you know this?

Do you know that the fire lit by a stroke of matches can consume a nation?

This is because, if you give it chance, position and enabling environment, flammable materials, it will increase and multiply itself. Then, it will spread to all the places you want it to go to, and also to all the places you do not even want it to go to. Even so it is.

The spirit inside the body is the fire, while the flesh is the lamp. The flesh makes the fire, powers of the Holy Spirit, in the spirit to calm down, not fiercely active. The fire, light, is just enough to serve the purpose of putting the light inside the lamp, which is to give light to the immediate environment. The purpose is not to consume all the things around the lamp. The purpose is to give light.

Is it true?

Congregation: It is true.

St Paul: Son of man, even so it is with spirit and flesh. As a great consuming fire mellows down itself inside a lamp, to give light to all the dark places, son of man, even so is the spirit made low and small inside the flesh.

That is why, all the teachings being given, it is true that the spirit knows all of them, but it does not show that it knows all, because the spirit was not made to show all of its powers, until it is necessary to do so, until it is necessary to show or use the spirit as the Omnipotent, the Omnipresent and the Omniscient.

That is why all the things you learn, all the things you remember, you have to strive and make the flesh know the ones it should know, and write down those things that should be written down in a book. From time to time, the record shall be to you a reminder. When you are at your house, you use the records to meditate.
